Baseball Game

Some friends of ours are enjoying a Staycation in Duluth this week, and they invited us along to a Huskies game last night!  The Huskies are a local amateur baseball team who play in the Northwoods League.  We've been wanting to see a game since we moved here but it never happened until last night.  It was so much fun!  We picked Eli up from work and went straight to the game.  We had seats directly behind the catcher so our view was perfect, and the tiny stadium was reminiscent of yesteryear.  It was the perfect way to spend a perfect summer evening.

Caleb and Ella were baseball buddies

with Ella, Angela, and Sam in the front row behind the catcher

the boys: Pete and Sam, Eli and Caleb

Can you tell how tiny the stadium is?  It was great!

By the way, these friends of ours, the Olsens, are the family that we're planning to do medical missions with in a couple years.  Pete was one year ahead of Eli in the residency program here (meaning he just officially completed residency and we're so jealous!) and their son Sam is just two weeks younger than Caleb.  We initially connected with them because we knew they had a similar calling to do medical mission work in Africa, and eventually we realized that the Lord brought our families together so we could serve in Africa together.  The Olsens love the Lord and are committed to following His call to serve in Africa and we love them so much!  They've become incredibly close friends of ours and we're excited and thankful to have another family to venture to Africa with.  You'll hear much more about them as the time draws nearer for us all to head overseas.  In the meantime, we're enjoying spending time together here in Duluth, like going to a Huskies game!
