Caleb and Kai have months of pent-up energy so we took them to the playground as soon as we could. This particular playground is near Canal Park and has rubber tire on the ground instead of sand, so it's mud-free. Don't get me wrong - they were plenty dirty by the time we left because crawling and rolling around in bits of tire leaves its mark - but it was less of a mess than a mud pit would've caused. And they were two happy happy kids :)
With the vast amounts of sunshine came the realization that it was time to get sunglasses for Kai. Caleb loves wearing his and was eager to help his brother figure them out. It turned into a game, of course, but Caleb was rather encouraging: "Looking good!" he repeated several times.
The new sunglasses were the first step towards welcoming spring with open arms. If the warmth prevails, we may need to bust out the baseball caps and shoes to replace the winter hats and boots. We'll wait a couple more weeks, though. Spring has proven herself to be a fickle lady and we're not ready to believe that she's really here rather than just waving hello. But if April arrives without any more snow or freezing temps, we'll be ready to open the door wide and invite our dear friend Spring to stay for an extended visit!
